Data Deletion
Last Updated: August 12, 2026
Your data belongs to you. You can request deletion of your Chrysalis account and personal data at any time.
This page explains how to make a deletion request, what happens after you submit one, and how deletion works across our systems.
How to Request Deletion
You can request deletion by emailing:
Please use “Data Deletion Request” in the subject line.
You do not need to be logged into a Chrysalis account to submit a request.
If your request relates to a privacy or security concern, you may also contact:
Where available, you may also be able to delete certain content or close your account directly within Chrysalis.
What Happens After You Submit a Request
Once we receive your request, we will:
Acknowledge your request within two business days.
Verify that you are the person associated with the data or are authorized to make the request.
Confirm whether you are requesting deletion of your full account or specific information.
Delete the applicable data from active Chrysalis systems.
Instruct subprocessors holding that data on our behalf to delete it where required.
Allow encrypted backup copies to expire according to our standard backup cycle.
Confirm when the deletion process is complete.
We generally verify identity using the email address associated with the account. We will not ask for more information than reasonably necessary to confirm your identity.
How Long Deletion Takes
We complete verified deletion requests without undue delay and generally within 30 days of verification.
Some encrypted backup copies may remain temporarily within our standard backup cycle. Chrysalis production database backups are retained for up to 7 days before automatically expiring.
Deleted data will not be intentionally restored to active systems from those backups.
What Data Can Be Deleted
Depending on the Chrysalis products you use, deletion may include:
Account and profile information
Consent selections
Vault content and Identity Context
Partner-related data processed by Chrysalis on your behalf
Other personal data associated with your account
Certain operational records may already be pseudonymized, anonymized, or maintained separately from the personal content stored in your account.
Limited Exceptions
In limited circumstances, we may need to retain specific information after a deletion request when required to:
comply with a legal or regulatory obligation;
establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim;
investigate or prevent security incidents, fraud, or abuse; or
meet an applicable contractual or regulatory requirement.
When an exception applies, we retain only the information necessary for that purpose and delete it when the applicable obligation ends.
Records showing that a deletion request was received and completed may also be retained as compliance and audit evidence.
Enterprise and Health Data
If Chrysalis processes information on behalf of an organization, your request may also be subject to that organization's agreement with Chrysalis.
Where Chrysalis processes protected health information under a Business Associate Agreement, return and deletion of that information are handled according to the applicable agreement and legal requirements.
